The company’s technology integrates financial data analytics, regulatory reporting, and automation into enterprise-level platforms used by leading financial institutions. The environment combines finance, programming, and risk intelligence, ideal for graduates with both a quantitative mindset and an interest in modern financial systems.

The Role

As a Graduate Financial Data & Risk Technology Analyst, you will work within the firm’s Financial Systems and Risk Technology division. The role focuses on bridging the gap between finance and technology by supporting the automation of risk, compliance, and investment data processes.

You will assist in building models, improving reporting workflows, and helping clients meet the FCA’s growing data integrity and regulatory technology requirements. This is a hands-on, project-based role involving collaboration with finance professionals, developers, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, testing, and implementing automated reporting systems for financial and risk data
  • Work with SQL, Python, or R to clean, transform, and analyse investment and operational datasets
  • Support the creation of dashboards and data visualisations in Power BI or Tableau for management reporting
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure all systems align with FCA and PRA reporting requirements
  • Participate in testing and validation of financial models and data pipelines used for risk management and capital analysis
  • Conduct variance and exposure analysis on portfolios to monitor financial and operational risk
  • Document workflows, contribute to governance reviews, and ensure full data auditability across platforms
  • Support technology and audit teams during internal or external compliance reviews
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, storage, and automation processes across departments

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets, portfolio risk, or investment products
  • Proficiency in Excel and exposure to programming or query languages (Python, SQL, or R preferred)
  • Keen interest in the intersection of finance, technology, and data governance
  • Sound understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including FCA conduct standards, AML principles, and MiFID II, with knowledge verifiable through accredited or CPD-recognised training
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Attributes:

  • Internship or academic project involving financial modelling, risk systems, or data automation
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools (AWS, Azure) or version control systems (Git)
  • Exposure to data governance, information security, or regulatory technology projects
  • Experience building dashboards or reports in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Career Progression & Development

  • Structured Graduate Training Programme across Risk Technology, Data Management, and Investment Operations
  • Sponsorship for a recognised Level 7 postgraduate or professional qualification in Financial Technology, Risk Management, or Data Analytics
  • 3–2 hybrid working model after the initial training period
  • Mentorship from senior risk and data analytics professionals
  • Clear career path to Associate Risk Technologist or Quantitative Data Analyst within 18–24 months
  • 25 days of annual leave, private health coverage, pension contributions, and performance bonuses
